Downhole IP surveys are an important method of testing whether drillholes have intersected target mineralisation. The downhole method provides detailed information on subsurface resistivity and IP values which are important to provide a more thorough understanding of surface IP surveys and to guide exploration efforts. The downhole IP method can provide more detailed delineation of subsurface IP anomalies including direction and extent, and are an important part of any surface IP or drilling program. In addition, downhole IP can help with mapping of subsurface lithology and structure.
